Playgroup
St Martin’s Kindergarten has a playgroup running every Friday. Children can attend Playgroup during Kindy terms. It is open for all families for children from birth to five years of age. Playgroup utilises the kindergarten equipment and resources and with the support of kindergarten staff. Playgroup is a great opportunity for families to familiarise themselves with the Kindergarten facilities and make new friends. Parents are responsible for their own children during the session. Please bring along a hat.
Fridays: 12:30pm to 2:00pm (during school terms)
Fees: $4 per session or $30 per term
Transition to Kindy
As an introduction to St Martin’s Kindergarten, transition is offered. Your child is able to attend a three hour session per week, for three weeks in the term prior to starting Kindergarten (if commencing in Term 1, transition is held in Term 4 of the prior year, if commencing in Term 3, transition is held in Term 2). These sessions are designed as an orientation to Kindy and allow your child to become familiar with the Kindy, the staff and routines before beginning full time Kindy. Families are invited to stay for the first session.
Fees: $50
Extended Transition to Kindy
We also offer an extended transition program to those who will commence their year of Kindy in the Term 1 intake. We have a limited number of positions available for children to attend a three hour session per week for fourteen weeks across term’s 3 and 4.
Fees: $150
Kindergarten
Children are entitled to access 4 terms of preschool in the year before they start school.
We offer two intakes:
- Start of year intake (term 1) for children who turn 4 years of age before 1st May.
- Mid-year intake (term 3) for children who turn 4 between 1st May—31st October (they will then start school in the middle of the following year, and likely complete 6 terms of reception/foundation).
Children are able to attend 15 hours of Kindergarten per week.
The following combinations are available:
- One full day & three half days per week
- Two full days & one half day per week
- Five full days per fortnight
Morning Sessions: Monday-Friday 9:00am to 12 noon
Full Day Sessions: Monday-Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm
Fees: $180 per term (discount of $40 available for families that pay one upfront payment for the year)
Early Entry
Early entry to preschool may be offered to:
- children with additional needs and/or disability
- children with significant extenuating family or individual circumstances
- children with emerging English as an additional language or dialect (EALD)
- children who are at significant risk due to family circumstances.
The child may attend preschool for up to 6 hours in term 4, prior to the child starting their eligible preschool year.
Before and After Kindy Care
Kindy sessions run from 9am – 3pm. If you require care for your child outside these times, we offer before care from 8am – 9am in the morning and after care 3pm – 5pm in the afternoon (Monday-Thursday). If our service times prevent your access, please contact our directors.

Occasional Care
We are able to offer some occasional care to children who are enrolled and attending our Kindergarten. This is dependent on spaces and we need to give priority to Kindy children, Please speak to the director to enquire about this.
