Playgroup
St Martin’s Kindergarten has a playgroup running every Friday. Children can attend Playgroup during Kindy terms. It is open for all families for children from birth to five years of age. Playgroup utilises the kindergarten equipment and resources and with the support of kindergarten staff. Playgroup is a great opportunity for families to familiarise themselves with the Kindergarten facilities and make new friends. Parents are responsible for their own children during the session. Please bring along a hat.
Fridays: 12:30pm-2:00pm (please note: Playgroup does not run on the last Friday of the Term or during the school holidays)
Fees: $4 per session or $30 per term
Transition to Kindy
At St Martin’s we recognise that starting kindy can be a big change for some children. We currently offer an optional orientation program to help prepare children for their year of Kindy. These transition sessions are available to children in the term before they commence Kindy.
During these sessions, children will become familiar with educators, routines, equipment and other children to help them to feel comfortable and confident in the kindy environment.
The transition program consists of:
One three-hour session per week, for four weeks in the term prior to starting Kindergarten.
If your child commences Kindy in Term 1, transition is held in Term 4 of the prior year (in November). If your child commences Kindy in Term 3, transition is held in Term 2 of that same year (in June).
Fees: $50
Kindergarten
Children are entitled to access 4 terms of preschool in the year before they start school.
We offer two intakes:
- Start of year intake (term 1) for children who turn 4 years of age before 1st May.
- Mid-year intake (term 3) for children who turn 4 between 1st May—31st October (they will then start school in the middle of the following year, and likely complete 6 terms of reception/foundation).
Children are able to attend 15 hours of Kindergarten per week.
The following combinations are available:
- Two full days & one half day per week
- Five full days per fortnight
Full Day Sessions: Monday-Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm
Half Day Sessions: Friday 9:00am to 12noon
Fees: $200 per term (discount of $40 available for families that pay one upfront payment for the year)
Early Entry
Early entry to preschool may be offered to:
- children with additional needs and/or disability
- children with significant extenuating family or individual circumstances
- children with emerging English as an additional language or dialect (EALD)
- children who are at significant risk due to family circumstances.
The child may be eligible to attend preschool for up to 6 hours in the term prior to the child starting their
eligible preschool year.
Before and After Kindy Care
Kindy sessions run from 9am-3pm. If you require care for your child outside these times, we offer before care from 8am-9am in the morning and after care from 3pm-5pm in the afternoons (Monday-Thursday). Families are billed in half-hour increments at a flat rate of $5 per half hour. Please see the table below for current fee information:

If booking your child into both 8:00 – 9:00am and 3:00 – 5:00pm: the daily casual rate is $30, the daily term booking rate is $25.
